Education and Experience:
Ron has worked in the business of tax and investments for over 25 years. He earned his B.A. at Michigan State University, graduating with High Honors with a focus on Economics, Psychology & Sociology. He continues to use that focus to help his clients. In prior careers Ron served as a postal clerk in Yosemite National Park and a forest ranger and wilderness ranger on the Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. He co-owned a natural food store, where he saw a need for socially responsible financial advice and started preparing himself for his current career.
Community Involvement:
Ron has always been committed to serving his community. He helped organize several local non-profits and presently serves on the board of directors of a local hospice organization, an art center, an environmental and land use group and an affordable housing agency. Ron coached his children’s soccer teams and remains an avid fan and supporter of local soccer. He and his son play softball together on a community team.
Personal:
Ron grew up in Detroit, Michigan. After college, he headed west to Yosemite National Park in California, where he lived and worked for 10 years. He then migrated north and found the beautiful Hood River Valley of Oregon, which has been his home since 1975. Ron has been married to Christie for over 30 years and they have two grown children. His son Muir and daughter-in-law Jenny own and operate an independent bookstore in Hood River. His daughter Jasmine is a songwriter and striving to become a vegan chef. In his spare time, Ron manages Muir Woods Tree Farm, growing fir, cedar and sequoia trees.
