Roberto Isasi, CFA, CFP® joined Portfolio Resources Group in 2023 as a registered representative and investment adviser representative. His practice stands out by a blend of financial planning and investment advisory.
Business Experience:
Mr. Isasi has been a registered representative since January 2003. From 2003 to 2020 he held various positions in the US broker-dealer and registered investment adviser of Mercantil Servicios Financieros (Mercantil) including, among others, Financial Consultant, Senior Investment Officer, Securities Principal, President and CEO, Chairman of the Investment Committee, and member of the Board of Directors. During this period, Mr. Isasi was also Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management at Amerant Bank, N.A. (formerly Mercantil Commercebank, N.A.) and Private Banking Manager at Mercantil Bank (Schweiz) AG, in Zurich, Switzerland. More recently, Mr. Isasi served as Interim CEO of Davivienda Investment Advisor USA LLC, the US registered investment adviser of Colombia’s Grupo Davivienda. Prior to 2003, Mr. Isasi was Head of Securities Research and Portfolio Management at Merinvest, a local Venezuelan broker-dealer and investment adviser, and was Professor of Portfolio Management and Fixed Income Securities at Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA), in Caracas, Venezuela.
Educational Background:
Mr. Isasi earned a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 from Universidad Simón Bolívar, in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1995 he graduated with honors from the MBA program at IESA in Caracas, Venezuela. He has continued his professional development with courses and certifications in the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and the IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, among others.
Professional Designations and Licenses:
Mr. Isasi has a Series 7 Securities License (General Securities Representative Examination) since 2003, a Series 24 (General Securities Principal) since December 2006. Mr. Isasi obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1998 and his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification in 2006. He also has a Life Insurance, including a Variable Annuity License (December 2023).
